Recovering from Hurricane Irene
Hurricane Irene left a trail of damage in her wake as she passed through Eastern North Carolina in late August. We have replaced ground floor windows, cleaned up the yard, and had the bulkhead re-capped. Dock repairs are ongoing and we will be back to normal soon!

ASA honors for East Carolina Sailing School
East Carolina Sailing School was named Outstanding Sailing School of the Year for 2010 by the American Sailing Association, and Capt. Gary Flannelly was named Outstanding Instructor of the Year!
The awards are based on feedback from students. "Since ASA has over 300 sailing schools worldwide, being recognized as one of only a handful of schools selected for this award is a truly meaningful distinction," Flannelly said.

S/V Satori
We recently received an update from the crew of S/V Satori, a Pacific Seacraft 37 bought through Carolina Wind in 1998, pictured here while anchored in Cooks Bay, Moorea, French Polynesia. The owners cruised from 1999 to 2006, completing at least one full circumnavigation. They are refitting the boat in preparation for another extended cruise.

U.S. Sailboat Show, Annapolis, MD
The Carolina Wind staff enjoyed showing off two Pacific Seacrafts at the 2009 U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis. The event was well attended, and the weather cooperated for most of the show.
We join the Pacific Seacraft family in celebrating the life of W.I.B. Crealock, the naval architect responsible for the design of the company's line of cruising sailboats. |
Exciting times
The dock at Carolina Wind was buzzing with Pacific Seacraft activity in June and July 2009 as we commissioned a new PSC 34 and recommissioned a refurbished PSC 40.
Along with other new boats and marina guests, we counted NINE stunning Pacific Seacraft yachts on the dock at one point, representing every model in the company's current lineup - from the 31 to the 44.
