Slip Rental

Our marina has 22 deep water slips (most affording at least 10 foot draft boats with 14 foot beam max). Each slip is provided with electrical power outlets plus connections for cable and telephone should you wish to purchase those two services independently. We have both 30 and 50 amp AC power on the dock.

Carolina Wind Yachting Center, Inc. is located at historic Haven's Wharf, one of the oldest commercial buildings in North Carolina still in use for its original purpose - boating!  We are adjacent to the US Highway 17 bridge which spans the Pamlico River.

The docks themselves are fixed, wood plank with outboard pilings at all slips. Our large off-street parking lot is 100 feet from the dock and provided with concrete sidewalks for ease of carting gear to the boats. We have men's and women's showers which are kept locked plus washer & dryer. Each slip renter is provide a key for off-hours access to the showers.

We receive messages for those without telephone service at their slip and accept UPS packages and U.S. mail sent to our addresses. Our office is open 6 days a week. Our facility is serviced by the City of Washington fire and police departments.

We do require you to vacate the marina in the event of a hurricane and, at all other times, we do expect your vessel to be securely and substantially berthed. We do not allow the storage of any items on the dock itself except for water hoses and shorepower cords. We do not offer refueling or boat services, but will be glad to help you obtain both. You must maintain liability insurance on your vessel and we may request certification of coverage. Our rates include water and electricity for normal use.

While we are happy to rent to liveaboards, you are required to pay a fee for water, electricity, mail service, trash and general wear and tear. For non-liveaboards, winter use of non-thermostatically or non-timer controlled lamps or space heaters to prevent freeze damage is not allowed. The same is true of unattended summer use of air conditioners, refrigerators or ice makers.

The slip rent is payable in advance and is nonrefundable even if the slip is vacated before the end of the term. The shortest term we offer (other than transient) is by the calendar quarter. Rent for mid-period starting dates is prorated. We reserve the right to assign or change the slip your vessel occupies and to re-rent that slip during periods that your vessel is absent.
