Hunter Passage 42: For those sailors seeking a center cockpit design to charter…here she is. “Emmanuel II” is equipped for comfortable cruising, including a generator for air conditioning away from the dock… anchored in a beautiful creek or bay. She has a shoal keel for sailing thin waters and allowing anchoring in shallow creeks and bays. A reliable Yanmar diesel engine will keep you going when the wind gives up. If you believe that “two heads are better than one,”then “Emmanuel II” is for you…and they’re electric, too. She’s a great choice for a cruising family. Accommodations: Berths for seven are provided in v-berth (2), port settee (2), and aft cabin berth (2). Down the companionway to starboard, the galley is open, light, well ventilated, and provides plenty of storage. The heads are located conveniently to starboard forward of the main cabin and aft… private to the aft cabin. The private aft cabin is accessible to port just aft of the nav station. Galley Refrigeration and propane stove will make food preparation a cinch. Complementing the galley set-up is a dual stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressure water, and plenty of storage space. Head A reliable electric marine head is provided along with a shower with hot and cold water in each head. Hot water is supplied electrically by a hot water heater when dockside and via a heat exchanger from the engine when underway. A 12-Volt shower sump pump will discharge shower water, helping to keep the bilge clean and odor-free. White fiberglass and Formica surfaces provide light and easy to clean surfaces. Mirrors are plentiful and conveniently placed. The owner’s cabin aft has private access to the head. Electrical Emmanuel II has both 110-Volt AC and 12-Volt DC services. The 110-Volt AC shore power provides dockside service for hot water, battery charger, and multiple outlets in the galley, head, and each cabin. Breakers are provided for each. Heating and air conditioning is available via reverse-cycle 110-Volt built-in units. An on-board generator will supply 110Volt service when Emmanuel II is unplugged from the dock, at anchor, or underway. Smaller 110Volt demands are met with an inverter pulling DC power from the 12Volt battery banks. Both the 110-Volt and 12-Volt service panels are equipped with breaker switches at the nav station. Electronics Emmanuel II is equipped with Speed, Depth, and Wind instruments, and they are located at the helm in a pod with the Chartplotter/GPS and Autopilot. There is a repeater below at the nav station to duplicate almost all of the information supplied at the helm. A VHF Radio is available at the nav station with a remote mic located at the helm. Deck and Hull Cockpit cushions are custom fit for all cockpit seating. The swim ladder lowers to access the transom platform through a walk-thru in the stern rail. Emmanuel II has an electric windlass servicing two anchors with chain/rope rodes. Rodes lead aft into a hinged anchor locker. There are deck hatches and opening ports to provide ventilation below decks. All sail controls lead aft to the cockpit. A dodger, bimini, and connector will help control any inclement weather and provide shade in the cockpit. There is a hot and cold pressure transom shower. Sails and Rigging Emmanuel II is sloop rigged with genoa furling. All sail controls are within easy reach in the cockpit. Mechanical A 60 horsepower diesel will keep Emmanuel II moving when the wind drops. The engine alternator will charge the batteries when the engine is running and provide hot water away from the dock or at anchor. Emmanuel II has a fixed 3-blade bronze propeller for smooth and reliable engine operation. Safety Equipment and Accessories All US Coast Guard required equipment is aboard including life jackets, horseshoe buoy, flares, air horn, and fire extinguishers. An automatic electrical and a manual bilge pump are provided.
