Galley

The port side galley is U-shaped with ample cabinets and drawers. The deep double stainless steel sink has pressurized hot and cold filtered water and an accumulator tank. The galley includes custom built spice and dish racks and a folding food prep table.

Electrical and Electronics

12 Volt system, 2 separate banks consisting of 5 gel filled batteries, 2 (2007) 8Ds for house, 2 (2003) G 27s dedicated to electronics and engine cranking, 1 (2004) for windlass. All connected through a battery combiner, and Heart 2500 watt inverter. Batteries are also charged by Air Marine Wind Generator, two 75 watt Siemens solar panels with Ultra High efficiency solar and wind charge controllers and a 100 amp Balmar alternator equipped with Zap Stop protector, and a Heart Interface Smart regulator. In addition to the solar panels, Paloma carries a wind generator with stand-alone smart regulator. Telephone and cable TV hookups also installed in cabin. Shore power equipment includes two 30 amp 110 volt outlets with 2 cables, 50 feet each, one 50 amp cable splitter, and 2 220 volt outlets with 3.5 KVA transformers installed for European hook-up.

Mechanical

DescriptionThe 51 HP Perkins M4-108 diesel engine was rebuilt in July 2002, and has less than 300 hours on it since then. The stainless steel water intake manifold and Racor raw water filter accommodates air conditioning, forced air circulating hot water central heating, refrigeration, engine intake, and the salt water foot pump. The engine room is sound insulated, lighted, Halon protected and has an air blower for exhaust heat. The engine has temperature and oil pressure alarms and is fresh water intercooled.

Safety Equipment and Accessories

Equipped for world cruising, this vessel carries more spare parts than can be listed here, and the European value added tax has been paid. She is equipped with davits and a dinghy with 15 HP Mercury motor (2002). New teak decking was completed in Trinidad in 2004 and is glued not screwed and re-caulked. In 2002 the hull underwent a total osmosis preventive treatment. The bottom was peeled and vinylester resin was applied followed by 7 coats of epoxy barrier coat. The nav station has been redone to include instrument and electrical panels and new seat. The bimini, dodger, cockpit cushions, and salon cushions are all new. In addition, the boat has new canvas covers for the hatches including new rain guards while hatches are open, and new canvas covers for cap rails. Other recently added features and equipment include inspection ports for lifelines and chain plates, 300 feet of new 10mm 3/8 inch BBS anchor chain, and 3 new batteries for windlass instruments and starting battery.
