Camelot is Hull #730 of the popular Catalina 42 MkII. The 3-cabin layout means she is the perfect boat for family cruising or entertaining guests aboard. She is already a successful cruiser and is ready to take her new owners anywhere they can imagine. Camelot is well equipped, including air conditioning, chartplotter, generator, inverter, electric heads, TV/VCR, in-mast furling, icemaker, rigid-inflatable dinghy with outboard, and more. A one-owner boat since new in 2000, she has been carefully maintained and is in turn-key condition. Accommodations: The Catalina 42 MkII Tri-Cabin layout features an owner's suite forward with a private head. The forward head has an enclosed shower stall. Aft of the head is a Pullman berth to port, and ample storage to starboard. The walk-through galley is to starboard in the main saloon, with a large dinette to port. The upgraded Ultraleather upholstery is attractive, comfortable, and durable. Moving aft, the large nav station is to port, and the head to starboard. The nav station includes a repeater for the wind/depth/speed instruments, and the TV/VCR hides behind an accordion door. On either side of the companionway are doors into the private aft cabins. Each has a double berth and convenient cabinets and lockers. With double berths in each of the three private cabins and a convertible double berth in the main saloon, Camelot has berths for up to eight people. Galley Camelot's galley offers ample storage and counter space. The gimballed three-burner propane stove with oven has a slide-out cover for even more working area. The stove and the double sink with hot and cold pressure water are stainless steel. The Adler Barbour refrigeration unit is accessible from the top and through the front. A Samsung microwave adds another element of convenience. Camelot also has a Raritan Icer-Ette icemaker for ice-cold drinks no matter where you roam. Head The Catalina 42 MkII's heads are designed for convenience and comfort. The forward and aft heads both feature new electric Jabsco marine heads, eliminating the need for manual pumping. Both heads have molded sinks and countertops for easy cleaning, stainless steel hardware, cabinets for storage, and shower drain pumps. The forward head features a separate, enclosed shower stall. Electrical Camelot's three AGM marine 12-volt batteries are only three years old, and are kept topped up with a Heart 2,000-watt inverter/charger with a remote display panel providing detailed information about the charging status and battery state. A Fischer Panda 8 kW generator charges the batteries and provides AC power when shore power isn't available. Marine Air air conditioning keeps the boat cool on hot summer nights. Electronics Navigation equipment includes a new Uniden ES VHF radio with wireless handheld remote mic. Raytheon ST60 wind/speed/depth instruments with a repeater at the nav station complement the Raytheon 620 chartplotter with 10" display, located at the helm. A Raytheon ST6000 autopilot makes shorthanded sailing a breeze. For entertainment purposes, Camelot offers a Sony XR-C5300X AM/FM cassette player with 10-disc CD changer and remote, as well as a Panasonic TV/VCR. Deck and Hull The Catalina 42 has a white hull and deck with grey contrasting non-skid. The walk-thru transom includes a boarding ladder with contour treads. At the bow, an electric windlass, bow roller, and large anchor locker simplify ground tackle handling. The primary Delta anchor has 200 feet of chain, and the secondary Danforth has chain and rode. New bottom paint 2009. Cockpit features include: Sails and Rigging Camelot's double spreader masthead sloop rig features roller furling on both the mainsail and the 140% genoa. All sail controls are led to the cockpit for convenient sail handling. A boom vang and 6:1 traveler aid in tweaking the sail shape and adjusting to wind changes. Primary winches are self-tailing chromed bronze Lewmar 54s, while the cabintop halyard winches are self-tailing Lewmar 40s. Mechanical The 50-horsepower Yanmar 4JH3E has logged 1,775 hours and has been carefully maintained and serviced with synthetic oil. Safety Equipment and Accessories Safety equipment includes double lifelines, stainless steel cabintop handrails, emergency tiller, electric and manual bilge pumps, and all CG-required safety equipment. Additional equipment includes an Achilles 8' RIB with Honda Four-Stroke 9.9-horsepower outboard.
