We are delighted to offer one of Pacific Seacraft’s best-handling, seakindly, and graceful models. The Pacific Seacraft Orion 27 is the perfect choice for all types of sailing… whether sailing close to home or reaching for a distant horizon…with full crew or single-handing. Her hull design provides for full rudder and propeller protection and a deep-V shape forward for a comfortable ride. She also offers shoal draft capabilities with her 4’ draft. Yard Art is ready to take her new owners on the next big adventure. Her bottom has just been freshly painted. Accommodations: Yard Art has the desirable Plan A interior. Berths for five are provided in the V-berth (2), port settee (2), and aft quarter berth (1). Down the companionway, the sit-down nav station and chart table is located conveniently to starboard with the galley just forward. To port and aft is the quarterberth. The Pacific Seacraft Orion 27 features an open cabin layout with a surprising amount of main cabin room. The unique dining table is to port and converts to a double berth. The enclosed head is forward to port. Over the main cabin is a large hatch with screen for ventilation in addition to two teak dorades with brass cowl vents. All ports are opening bronze with tempered glass and screens. Galley The galley is equipped with a top-loading insulated icebox which is refrigerated by SeaFrost. The Force 10 stainless steel propane stove has 2-burners and an oven and is gimbaled for duty under sail. Completing the galley setup is a double stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressure water, fresh water foot pump, and plenty of storage in cabinets both above and below the work surface. An optional counter extension flips up for additional space for the navigation station or galley. Head A reliable Wilcox Crittenden manual marine head is provided along with hot and cold pressure water. Hot water is supplied electrically by a hot water heater when dockside and via a heat exchanger from the engine when underway. A 12-volt shower sump pump will discharge shower water, helping to keep the bilge clean and odor free. A molded vanity and SS sink provide easy to clean surfaces. An 18-gallon holding tank may be emptied via a dockside pump out or discharged via a y-valve, manual pump, and thru hull. Electrical Yard Art has both 110V AC and 12V DC services. She has an optional Guest 10 Battery Charger. The 110-volt AC shore power provides dockside service for hot water, multiple outlets in the galley, head, and each cabin. The 12-volt DC system has 2-batteries connected by “GUEST” selector switches in the navigation station for isolating batteries or combining them. Both the 110V and 12V service panels are equipped with breaker switches above the nav station. Electronics Yard Art is equipped with an Autohelm 3000 autopilot, Garmin GPS Map 198C and sounder, Navman Wind instrument, Standard Horizon Maxi VHF Radio. Sails and Rigging Yard Art is a factory-built cutter with a self-tacking club-footed staysail. Hood roller furling is available for the 120% Hood Genoa. The four-battened Hood mainsail has jiffy- reefing. Sails are handled with bronze Barlow 23 self-tailing primaries and Barlow 16 cabin top winches.
