The Pacific Seacraft 31 is designed to be the ideal sailboat for the cruising couple ... whether sailing close to home or reaching for a distant horizon. She has a unique and innovative interior layout that provides ventilation and a feeling of space unusual in a 31-footer. Her hull design provides for full rudder and propeller protection and a deep-V shape forward for a comfortable ride. She also offers shoal draft capabilities with the optional Scheel keel. Take Five is well equipped for cruising, with refrigeration, air conditioning, windlass, dodger and bimini. All cabin lights and running lights are LED for low electrical draw. She is in excellent condition and ready to take her new owners on their next big adventure. The boat is currently in Charleston, SC on her way back from Florida to Oriental, NC after a successful cruise. Accommodations: Berths for six are provided in the V-berth (2), port and starboard settees (2), and aft quarter berth (2). Down the companionway, the chart table is located conveniently to starboard with the galley just opposite. To port and aft is the quarterberth. The Pacific Seacraft 31 features an open cabin layout very similar to the famous Pacific Seacraft Dana model - except that it's larger. The unique dining table is forward between the settees and conveniently slides away under the v-berth when not in use. The enclosed head is aft to starboard. A large hatch with Oceanair pull shade/screen over the main cabin and opening ports with aluminum screens provide ventilation. Take Five's cabin features premium UltraLeather cushions. Custom-made teak companionway doors with screens and removable Lexan glass provide comfort and ventilation. They are easily slipped off so that companionway boards can be dropped in when at sea. Galley The galley is equipped with a top-loading insulated icebox with SeaFrost 12V refrigeration. The Hillerange stainless steel propane stove has 2 burners, broiler, and an oven and is gimbaled for duty under sail. Completing the galley setup are Corain countertops, a double stainless steel sink, hot and cold pressure water, and plenty of storage in cabinets both above and below the work surface. An optional counter extension flips up for additional space for the nav station or galley. Head A reliable manual marine head is provided along with hot and cold pressure water. Hot water is supplied electrically by a hot water heater when dockside and via a heat exchanger from the engine when underway. A 12-volt shower sump pump will discharge shower water, helping to keep the bilge clean and odor free. A molded vanity, Corian countertop, and SS sink provide easy to clean surfaces. A 16-gallon holding tank may be emptied via a dockside pump out or discharged via a y-valve, electric macerator pump, and thru hull. Take Five has the optional hot/cold cockpit shower, located in a compartment in the cockpit coaming. Electrical Take Five has both 110V AC and 12V DC services. She has the optional Xantrex Freedom 10 Inverter/Charger. The 110-volt AC shore power provides dockside service for hot water, multiple outlets in the galley, head, and each cabin. The 12-volt DC system has 2 batteries connected by selector switches in the nav station for isolating batteries or combining them. Both the 110V and 12V service panels are equipped with breaker switches above the nav station. A bronze Dynaplate is provided for the best lightning/grounding protection available. Cruisair 10,000 BTU reverse-cycle air conditioning and heat with an SMX II Control System keypad/display keeps the cabin comfortable year-round. Electronics Take Five is equipped with an Icom Command Mic VHF radio, Raymarine ST60 instrument package with speed, depth, and wind meters and a Raytheon ST6001 autopilot with gyrocompass. A Raymarine E80 Chartplotter is mounted in a Nav Pod at the helm. Deck and Hull This Pacific Seacraft 31 features Navy boot and sheer stripes and a two-tone deck. Ports, handrails and hardware are stainless steel, while the winches are chromed bronze. All sail controls are led to the cockpit for ease of handling. Pacific Secraft builds its boats to the highest bluewater standards, including Kevlar reinforcement below the waterline, vinylester resin, and full backing plates on all deck hardware. This model includes the optional anodized aluminum toerail and stainless steel striking plate on the teak rubrail. Ground tackle includes a 35# CQR primary anchor and a Bruce secondary anchor, each with chain and rode. A Lofrans Royal manual windlass facilitates ease of handling. New bottom paint 2009. Sails and Rigging Take Five is a factory-built cutter equipped with hardware to move the staysail stay out of the way when desired, including a Pelican Hook for quick connect/disconnect. The Quantum 125% Genoa is installed with a Furlex roller furler. The Quantum 7 oz. hank-on staysail stows easily in its own bag. The Selden in-mast furling system utilizes a Quantum mainsail with vertical battens. A Selden Rodkicker boom vang makes sail adjustments easy. Mechanical The Yanmar 3YM30 3-cylinder diesel makes 29 horsepower and is controlled by a single-lever throttle/shifter. A Hitachi 80-amp alternator generates juice when the engine is running. Safety Equipment and Accessories Take Five is a very capable and accommodating sailboat. Her “miscellaneous” list includes all the required Coast Guard safety equipment, stainless steel swim ladder on the transom, Ritchie pedestal-mounted compass, bimini and dodger, pedestal cover, manual bilge pump, electric bilge pump with float switch, padeyes in the cockpit for safety harnesses, PSS dripless stuffing box, and the factory optional lightning ground system, coaming boxes, and 3-blade bronze prop.
