We are delighted to offer one of Pacific Seacraft’s best-handling, seakindly, and accommodating models. The Pacific Seacraft 40 Pilothouse is the perfect choice for all types of sailing … whether sailing close to home or reaching for a distant horizon. Her hull design provides for full rudder and propeller protection and a deep-V shape forward for a comfortable ride. She also offers shoal draft capabilities with the optional shoal draft bulb keel. The Pacific Seacraft 40 Pilothouse offers “an acceptable layer of decadence to the comforts of the standard 40 model” says the designer, Bill Crealock. Standing watch inside the pilothouse on a wet or cold night with coffee in hand … is just civilized. La Gentille is in excellent condition and is ready to take her new owners on the next big adventure. Check out her extensive cruising equipment list.

Accommodations:

Berths for five are provided in the V-berth (2), port settee (1), and aft quarter berth (2). Down the companionway, the chart table is located conveniently to starboard at the inside helm and just forward of the aft cabin. The Pacific Seacraft 40 Pilothouse features an open and airy main cabin layout with incredible views to the outside world in all directions. Two steps down from the helm station, you’ll find the very spacious galley to port. Opposite is a work/study/storage area custom built for the owners. The enclosed head is forward to port and features a separate shower compartment. The owners’ cabin is forward, with abundant storage in hanging lockers, drawers, and cabinets.

Galley

The galley is equipped with a top- and front-loading insulated icebox, which is refrigerated, and a separate freezer. The Force 10 stainless steel propane stove has 3 burners, broiler, and an oven and is gimbaled for duty under sail. Completing the galley setup is a double stainless steel sink, microwave, hot and cold pressure water, and plenty of storage in cabinets both above and below the work surface. A Seagull IV water purifier keeps onboard water tasting great. Corian countertops are attractive and durable.

Head

A reliable manual marine head is provided along with hot and cold pressure water. Hot water is supplied electrically by a hot water heater when dockside and via a heat exchanger from the engine when underway or by the generator. A 12-volt shower sump pump will discharge shower water, helping to keep the bilge clean and odor free. A molded vanity, Corian countertop, and SS sink provide easy to clean surfaces. A 25-gallon holding tank may be emptied via a dockside pump out or discharged via a y-valve, macerator pump, and thru hull.

Electrical

La Gentille has both 110V AC and 12V DC services. She has a Northern Lights 6KW generator (486 hrs)  for providing 110V service away from the dock. She also has the optional Freedom 20 Inverter/Charger and an Air X Marine Wind Generator. The 110-volt AC shore power provides dockside service for hot water as well as multiple outlets in the galley, head, and each cabin. The 12-volt DC system has (3) 4D AGM and (1) GRP31 batteries connected by “GUEST” selector switches in the nav station for isolating batteries or combining them. Both the 110V and 12V service panels are equipped with breaker switches above the nav station. A bronze Dynaplate is provided for the best lightning/grounding protection available.

Electronics

La Gentille is equipped with a Raymarine C80 Chartplotter at the inside helm and a C120 Chartplotter in a NavPod in the cockpit. Raymarine radar display on either chartplotter. Collision avoidance radar detector (CARD). B&G electronics include GPS, Wind, Depth, And Speed information at both helm stations. Communication is by an Icom 710 SSB and Standard Intrepid VHF radio is mounted at the nav station along with a remote RAM mic in the cockpit. Matching Weems & Plath clock/thermometer/barometer set.

Sails and Rigging

La Gentille is a factory-built cutter with a Leisure Furl in-boom furling system for the full-battened mainsail and Harken roller furling for both the staysail and the genoa. All sails are made by Ullman. An electric Harken 40.2ST main halyard winch is provided, which is also handy for hoisting the dinghy outboard.

Safety Equipment and Accessories

MOM-8, 6-man Switlick Liferaft w/hydrostatic release, 3 million candlepower handheld spotlight, 406Mhz EPIRB, clear Lexan storm shutters for all pilothouse windows, 18’ Paratech sea anchor with 400’ designated anchor line.

General

La Gentille is a very capable and accommodating sailboat. Her “miscellaneous” list includes all the required Coast Guard safety equipment, properly sized galvanized plow anchors with chain and rode (60lb CQR and 20kg Bruce), Lighthouse 1501 electric windlass (reversing w/remote control), CruiseAir reverse-cycle heating and air conditioning, Force 10 propane heater, SS swim ladder for the transom (available) and a SS gate mounted ladder, Ritchie pedestal-mounted compass at both helm stations, a custom dodger, bimini, (2) Shade Tree awnings, wheel cover, manual bilge pump, two electric bilge pumps with float switches, and the factory optional lightning ground system, coaming boxes, and 3-blade bronze MAXprop (serviced 2008). Custom hull Imron dark blue w/ white boot and sheer (2006), Kato Island davits with Zodiac Cadet 280 RIB w/ 8HP Yamaha, Sidepower 95TI Bow Thruster with joystick and wireless remote control, Stainless Steel stern bridge for wind generator, antennas, and elevated stern light, Stereo AM/FM/CD with 4 speakers, (2) padded rail seats behind the helm offer over-the-top visibility, Mesh pilothouse window covers reduce heat in summer and yet allow visibility. Folding mast steps make going aloft safe and simple.

More attention to detail has been made over time upgrading and updating even when her original construction process was closely specified and scrutinized. Multiple spare parts and accessories are provided … too many to list separately. Suffice it to say, La Gentille is ready to leave today for new horizons.
